be prepared for big swings. There is not usually a big profit from the holdem end since they tend to play that game a "little" tighter. The Omaha high is another story - there is big money to be made there if you dont get sucked out on too often. Play premium starting hands and fold quickly if the flop misses you. They will not notice that you have not played a hand in three days. As you may have seen, raises mean very little - they call anyway with almost no chance so raise when you have the best of it and reraise. I promise, they will not realize how few hands you have played. It is a little boring but it WILL produce winning results 3 of 4 nights or better. The women in that game tend to play better than the men so try to play at a table with fewer women. If you can handle some larger swings the 4-8-12-12 game can be really juicy and raises there mean absolutely nothing. There will always be 7 or more callers in that game or you are not at Harrahs. There will be bad beats but you are in the game to have players drawing against you when you have much the best of it. There will be nights that make you want to shoot yourself or some idiot that just hit a one outer but- that is Omaha. One other piece of advice that goes with Omaha everywhere - try not to be drawing in raised pots to anything but the nuts. That means - if you catch your card- then YOU WIN. I only wish New Orleans were not 140 miles and I had to pass Biloxi and Gulfport to get there. If we could only get them to play Omaha Hi-Low then you would really go crazy and see some REAL pots.

I can attest to what minus200 said. The suck outs are a by-product of Omaha. You never know what you've got until the river comes. So only draw to very strong hands (mostly just the nuts), and make them pay when they are drawing.

The hold'em orbits are good though. Some may tighten up, but mostly because they just don't know what to play. The game will still be loose with several people seeing the flop. I would have thought that bluffs would work better, because they would give people credit for full houses and nut straights like you have to with omaha boards. But the opposite is true. When the board pairs, three flush cards are out, or three "harmless" looking straight cards are out, its like they think, "Well this is hold'em so there's no way they can beat my middle pair." So when you make your draw or flop a set, and you know you have the best of it, you will get paid off handsomly.

But, as minus200 said earlier, the omaha is where the money is at. Just play tight and don't give back what you won chasing with the crap that others will play.
